Accessibility

Digital accessibility isn't a legal obligation for us — it's a matter of respect for every person who visits our website.

Voluntary commitment: The German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) applies to B2C offerings. As a B2B service provider, we are not legally required to comply. We have nonetheless made a deliberate decision to do so — because behind every business contact is a person who may have a disability and still deserves an equivalent user experience.

Conformance status

This website is designed to conform to the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard. Implementation is an ongoing process — we have put the key technical foundations in place and continue to improve based on testing and user feedback.

Measures implemented

Keyboard navigation

All functions of the website are fully accessible via keyboard. A visible skip link lets you jump straight to the main content and bypass navigation areas.

Contrast & readability

All text-background combinations meet at least the WCAG 2.1 AA requirement of 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and UI elements.

Semantic HTML & ARIA

Heading structure, landmark regions (nav, main, footer), and ARIA attributes are used consistently so screen readers can correctly interpret the page structure.

Alt text

All content-relevant images are provided with descriptive alt text. Decorative images and icons are hidden from screen readers using aria-hidden="true".

Controllable motion

The background video on the homepage can be stopped at any time using a clearly visible pause button (WCAG 2.2.2). Autoplay is muted to avoid any unwanted audio output.

Forms & interaction

Form fields are associated with labels, required fields are marked, and error messages are announced via live regions so screen reader users receive them immediately.

Known limitations

We are transparent about areas that are not yet fully accessible:

Data tables on document pages

Tables on the TOM, DPA, cookie policy, and data subject rights pages contain complex column structures that have limited usability with screen readers on small screens. Scope attributes have been added; a fully responsive alternative is in progress.

Focus indicators on certain interactive elements

In some interactive elements (e.g., mega-menu entries, card links) the focus outline has limited visibility. We have added global :focus-visible styles and continue to review the implementation.

Language attribute on certain pages

The HTML lang attribute is set at the page level (e.g., "de" for German pages, "en" for English pages). Individual foreign-language terms (e.g., technical terminology) within the running text are not separately marked with a lang attribute.

Feedback & contact

If you encounter barriers or content that isn't accessible, please let us know. We take this feedback seriously and respond promptly.
